AGM-86 ALCM FAIL - goes straight down to ground (with track)

I am not sure if this is supposed to happen.

Launched from a B52, super high, should be able to fly but it does not.

We don't mind an unresponded bug thread being bumped

Therefore - attention bump.

This is probably not a very helpful reply, but have you tried altering the launch parameters? (speed and altitude of the launch platform, different ways to force it to engage etc)

Yep. Close and low(er). Far away and high. Should not matter though.

All variants of the AGM-86 missile are powered by a Williams F107 turbofan jet engine that propels it at sustained subsonic speeds and can be launched from aircraft at both high and low altitudes.

Sorry, it's wikipedia. But it's better than nothing. :p

Hmm, well I've done some experimenting and I'm only able to confirm your findings no matter what parameters and tasks I choose.

Whether I specify the target or let the B-52 select a target on it's own, the outcome is the same. Missiles will be launched, they will drop till about 3 000 m altitude and start to level out their flight path but then will suddenly start to dive again and go nose down full engines blazing straight into the ground.

Seems there's a bug in the flight and/ or targeting logic of the missiles, they certainly aren't very useful in this state :)

I believe the team is still on holiday schedule until the 14th...
