So, just downloadet andet installed the game and when I try to do the first training mission, that's the message that pops up, dosn't say why.

Just throws me back to the mission select screen.

Now, I'm not very good with computers, so hope someone on here can help out.

See if you can play the mission by opening it in the missioneditor and save it again. press the play mission button on the left.

Can you also be more specific? What have you downloaded and installed? What aircraft are you using on which trainingmission?

Its dcs World with warthog installed.

Just tried a quick mission, same thing happens.

Start the mission, then it goes to desktop where another window opens and then I get the message.

So its in the process of starting to load the missiondata and not when the missiondata is loaded and switches to the portal?

Can you join an open online server?

What happens when you create a quick testmission in the editor with only 1 A10-C in it?

What are the details in the Windows crashmessage?

When nothing helps, have you tried reinstalling C++ 2010 and DirectX 9c?

(You can find these in 'DCS World/distr' folder)

Posted

There are no details, just that the game stopped working and windows dosnt know why.

When installing it did say something about a newer version of c++ being installed, dunno if that has anything to do with it.

There may be some crash logs in the Saved Games > DCS World > Logs folder. Post them here, when a dev or mod sees it, they might be able to figure it out.

Awaiting: DCS F-15C

I can't seem to find the logs.

It keeps saying:

"setup has detected that this computer does not meet the requirements to install this software. The following blocking issue must be resolved before you can install Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 x86 Redistributable Setup software packagde"

Please resolve the following: A newer version of Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 x86 Redistributable have been detected on the machine"

Dunno if this have anything to do with it, but it's the only error where it tells me more.

Also happens when I try multiplayer and the SU.

What OS is running on your computer and is it 32 or 64 bit?

When C++ version errors apear you can deinstall them and simply reinstall the right one. Not overwrite.

Im not sure if you need the X86 C++ for DCS World when you use Windows 7 X64. I only have the X64 installed.

Install only this (vc2010redist_x64.exe) one found in the folder 'DCS World/distr' folder.

When you look closer to the other C++ installer in the same folder, you see its an older version in the file propertys.

When the correct C++ 2010 X64 installed it should say version 10.0.30.319 in Windows 'Programs and Features'.

Aye, think theres your problem.

DCS World is intended as 64 bit software. Theres a workaround to make it work on 32 bit systems when this gives trouble.

Somehow i cant find the link to the topic that explains the workaround for X32 OS, but its somewhere on this forum. Im also not sure if the workaround will be without bugs.

You can at least find the DCS error logs in the folder:

START -> My Computer -> C:\Users\<windows username>\Saved Games\DCS\Logs

Windows 7 has an 'eventviewer'. You can start up the interface by typing 'eventviewer' (perhaps in danish) in the program searchbox in the START menu.

When you want fresh logs about this crash only, delete all logs in the logs folder and reproduce the crash again so it will create new logs.

To be certain,

Both C++ 2010 X32 and X64 installed here:

http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=997667&postcount=8

DirectX 9c from here:

http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=8109

- Windows fully updated, critical drivers of GFX and sound hardware updated to the latest stable version.

- Manualy delete files in the folders:

C:\Users\<windows username>\AppData\Local\temp (most likely 1 file wont delete because its in use, skip the files that wont delete)

C:\Windows\Temp

C:\Windows\Prefetch

- Run windows Disk Cleanup, clear unused shadow copys under the advanced tab. It possible the adv. tab doesnt exist in the Win7 x32 home edition youre using. Skip that part.

- Additionaly you can also do a Harddrive integrity check in My computer -> rightclick C drive -> propertys -> tools -> error-checking

- Restart computer and unplug as much hardware as possible, turn off antivirus and firewall, check under Ctrl-Alt-Del -> Task manager -> processes if you recognise more programs that are not relevant for running the OS.

- Run DCS World as administrator through the link provided in START -> All Programs -> Eagle Dynamics

A C0000005 ACCESS_VIOLATION is a standard windows hardwarecrashmessage caused by a program of which the program doesnt need to be the cause. That log also talks about DirextX acting weird as well as dcs.exe and something 32bit-ish giving you the middle finger.

it can go from too old hardware/wrong hardware settings in bios through misbehaving drivers and hardware to a corrupt DCS installation.

How much memory (RAM) is in your system? Is it DDR2 or DDR3? How much memory has your GFX card?

RAM + GFX memory can give trouble too when it is more than roughly 3200Mb.

You can try things out like using only 1 memory dimm when bios settings are correct.

Perhaps an official ED dude has something that could make it work still, dont ungrab yur ballz yet!

Well not giving up, but not knowing anything about computers makes it hard to keep up.

Right now I'm trying to re-download and install the game, proberbly not gonna make a difference but worth a shot anyway.

Posted (edited)

Its not a bad idea at all. deleting the setting folder in 'saved games' before the first run might help incase of corrupt settings too.

When a reinstallation gives the same result an attempt at settng DCS settings as low as possible might get something going.

When that works you can use higher settings to see hwere it goes BLARP.

I dont mind helping out a bit, my government wants me to be a progresive european and im bored as hell atm. + postcount = win :pain:

Just tried to redownload and reinstall, put settings to the lowest...and still the same result :/

Getting a bit discouraged here, never had this must trouble with a game before.

DCS is a very delicate beautyfull lady indeed.

Trying to make a detailed list of what hardware you have can help in these situations. Brand and type. Theres even bios and CPU settings of older hardware that could make your life miserable atm.

What also happens is that updated drivers provided by lets say Dell or mainboard manufacturers arent provided anymore, but updates are still given out by chipmanufacturers that have their products build in the mainboard.

With older hardware you can get results by creating your own better and newer driver package.
