Is P-51D a stand alone game? Do I need any other DCS game to get P-51 going? What other airplanes are in this game beside P-51? Any bombers??

Thanks,

Buckeye

The P-51D module itself only gives you the P-51D to fly, although World also comes with a free Su-25T (albeit with less than completely modelled avionics & systems). There are presently no A.I. controlled bombers of the Second World War era in DCS, although there are a number of more modern A.I.-only aircraft which come with World.

You MUST install DCS World to be able to Install the P-51. DCS World is FREE and downloadable from the DCS web site. DCS World is FREE and Has 1 Aircraft included. The Russian SU25. You can Install DCS World and make sure its working before you purchase the P-51

After you purchase the P-51 it then installs it into DCS World. You will add any other aircraft you buy the same way. For eg: A-10C or Black Shark Ka50 etc etc.

I'd rather have a bottle in front of me than a frontal lobotomy and I've had both.

Wait, what? P-51D can't function as a stand-alone the way the A-10C and Ka-50 titles do?

P51 is a module for DCS world. DCS world is free.

A10 and Ka50 came before DCS world. That's why they can be stand alone.

Correct. But it's really a non issue as all modules and future patches run under DCS World anyway.

If they had continued down the path where each module required a 6GB download then 3 modules would have occupied 18GB for eg.

Now you download DCS World (approx 6GB) and then add aircraft @ approx 500MB per aircraft.

I'd rather have a bottle in front of me than a frontal lobotomy and I've had both.
