Hi,

just a question. I'm very tired of tweaking with freetrack settings, so I'd like to move towards a really working and ultimate solution for the cockpit of my ka50.

I already have a track clip pro, but I could get a 3LED hat if necessary.

The question is: if I buy a Track IR 5, will I be able to get real 6DOF and a FULL zoom on every single gauge till maximum detail, also on lateral panels?

I really need that, cause with freetrack is impossible.

Does it affect much FPS?

I'd like to know the experience of BS2+Track IR users.

Thank you,

M

Excellent Immersion with TrackIR 5

Hi AnnoLuce

I have this setup since 2 years and recommend it to everybody. I used it successfully with BS1, then with BS2 standalone and now in DCS World with the various modules including the BS2 module. Very smooth, no lagging in BS2 standalone. DCS World is constantly improving but still a bit WIP. Most of the time I use the LED clip instead of the reflectors, because response and precision are better. Zoom works well, just make sure that your setting at startup is oprimized regarding your screen size and your view distance.

Hi Turnburn,

thanks you for your reply.

So, when you say settings at startup, you mean in the Track IR software?

Is there anything to be set up in the simulator?

thanks,

M

1 year ago i bought my TIR5... and absolutely happy with it...

before that i used freetrack for a certain time, but it doesn´t work very well... my cockpitview stumbled from left to right, up and down... it made me crazy... also i had to close the windows and to put anything behind me away that had some kind of shiny surface...

with TIR everything no problem... and the framerate and its smoothness when turning your head is absolutly brillinant..

so get your ass up and buy it

I use TrackIR 4 hardware and version 5 drivers and it's working perfect, with no impact on frame rate at all. IMHO one of the best pieces of hardware one can buy for sims.

I got sick of messing with Freetrack. It is a good piece of software, and being free is even better, but having to tweak it quite a bit (software and hardware) got annoying.

Tried FacetrackNoir. While great in theory, still has many issues. Try scratching your nose, or someone turning on (or off) a light near by. Totally gets everything out of wack.

Bought TrackIR 4 from someone on Craiglist. OMG...it works. Just works. No more messing with settings or adjustments. Just plug and play.

Highly reccomend it.
