I just am getting started. Do we need to use Sage Pay to make purchases ? As a US individual I don't see a clear path to just use VISA card

VISA purchases can be done as normal, with SagePay as the broker. Alternatively, you can perform VISA purchase through Paypal. (I do the latter on all sites that only accept Paypal; I never have actual balance on Paypal, I just select Paypal, select card payment, and go ahead with the payment.)

 

So just to be clear: SagePay is a "clear path to just use VISA card".

In this case the process is to select the product you want to purchase, proceed to checkout, select VISA, enter card details, done.
