hachiman Posted November 25, 2012 Posted November 25, 2012 Hi. Sorry for using this forum, but i am not getting a reply in the mission editing forum. How do i make an AI Unit report a contact and give MGRS coordinates to enter into the CDU? Thanx
JujuMan Posted November 25, 2012 Posted November 25, 2012 Watch this carefully, slowly and see what he does. Its what i used to learn assigning FAC, AFAC duties to units. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YuLtagonGzg _________________________________________
hachiman Posted November 26, 2012 Author Posted November 26, 2012 Thanx JuJu. Worked like a charm. However thats for JTAC, and i was hoping to make something like this video. An F-16 starts giving info at 2:20. I would be happy with an MGRS coordinate though rather than bullseye, but happy either way. Thanx again.
JujuMan Posted November 26, 2012 Posted November 26, 2012 (edited) When you contact JTAC/FAC/AFAC they will give you co-ordinates that you can enter into the CDU. For further reading own this subject I suggest that you download the DcS A10c Graphical User Interface Guide, it covers in great depth on how to use the Mission Editor. http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/downloads/documentation/ Edited November 26, 2012 by JujuMan _________________________________________
hachiman Posted November 26, 2012 Author Posted November 26, 2012 Yes I know that and again thanks. But that f-16 is reporting on its own without any contact from the pilot first. That's what I'm looking for.
JujuMan Posted November 26, 2012 Posted November 26, 2012 (edited) If the pilot is calling out a bullseye position you can easily slew the TAD cursor to the position and obtain the co-ordinates or place a Mark point on the TAD. I have not had time to see the video example you refer too. If you want to create that, the mission editor advanced waypoint options is where the magic is. Likely only through using triggers/zones, and even then, you'd either have to use a text descriptor with previously setup coordinates, or custom sound file with same.
