JLH Posted November 30, 2012 Posted November 30, 2012 Hi, new to the forums. Have been lurking for a little while. I've just picked up 2 8" UM-80 displays to use with thrustmaster MFDs for A-10C. thanks to this forum I managed to get my Lua files correct for the external left and right mfds and everything seemed great however sitting down for a first flight with the new config I realised TrackIR no longer loads. with displayLink installed trackIR seems to freeze and the GUI for the app never loads. trying to run it a second time it says its already running, the process is there in taskmanager but the app just doesn't run. uninstalling displayLink and trackIR works again. reinstalling trackIR with displayLink installed didn't help, unplugging the um-80 screens and stopping the displayLink manager service doesn't help. Has anyone had any success with using TrackIR and um-80 touch screens in Windows 8.
SEDUNDERI Posted December 2, 2012 Posted December 2, 2012 Tried with Win8 today and never got the combo Win8-TrackIR-Lilliput to work properly. Though my issue was craching in the DCS World. It worked if I turned off the Lilliput monitors. Ran out of time so I switched back to Win7 again ____________________________________________ Asus Maximus IV Extreme-z, 2600K@4.8GHz, CoolIt Vantage, Corsair 16GB RAM, GTX 1070, SSD, Windows 10 64bit, Cougar MFD, TM Hotas Warthog, Saitek combat pedals, Track IR
Slayer Posted December 3, 2012 Posted December 3, 2012 (edited) What displaylink driver are you using? I hope not the one that come with it or the one from windows update. Lots of problems with older driver , suggest getting the latest drivers for that and also the TIR beta. I had similar problems as yours over a year ago with their older software. http://www.displaylink.com/ Driver download link at the top If you have TIR 4 hardware and TIR 5 software it glitches out like that sometimes. You have to go into windows task manager and kill the process then restart it. Sometimes there will be 3 or 4 instances of it , kill them all then restart. Go to the process tab and look for TrackIR5.exe*32 Another issue is with Nvidia graphics drivers not being cooperative with TIR AND displaylink. So should you update your graphics driver you should turn off trackIR and displaylink stuff to prevent problems. Same may be for ATI but haven't tested. This goes for configuring your displays too , do it with track IR turned off. JLH Posted December 3, 2012 Author Posted December 3, 2012 Running 5.2 final for trackIR and 7.0 m3 (latest) for displayLink. Managed to get it working using 4.2 TrackIR software.
