The wooden sticks come from ammo crates that couldn't be used as shitter boxes and "soldiering" is not a word you'll hear come out of a Marines' mouth.

Is soldiering a dirty word in the Corps is it?

I'm not trying to get into a pissing contest here, merely taking a light hearted and frank approach. And I think its been established we have a different way of doing things.

I think when you're under air attack one might consider the initiative already lost whether you're lying on your back firing ammo into the air or trying to get away from the things that aircraft will likely shoot at. Presumably those would be the vehicles that are the biggest threat to either it or the ground troops it's supporting.

So what I'm reading is that in this scenario as a soldier if you're in a pinch its better to be killed while firing back hoping to get lucky than cowering in a ditch.

And the precise merits of the tactic aren't likely to be scrutinized too hard when few people in the U.S. military expect one of our convoys to be in a situation without air superiority anyways.

Question was answered s while ago. Not everything has to be relevant. That's what we call a "conversation".
Actually, that's what we call a non sequitur. But I wasn't complaining.

To sum it up: Vehicle behaviour is quite correct, except the lack of ability to search for an effective cover.

However, (un-)mounting troops for ground vehicles (and helicopters?!!) would be VERY helpful for various situations you may want to create with the mission editor (i.e. soldiers defending their vehicles (and themselves), troops brought to the fight/evacuated from a position by trucks, APCs or choppers, SAR,...). A lot of improvement that could be gained by just that one feature!
