Hi,

I have mapped both the HSI course increase/decrease and also the Heading Bug inc/dec to rocker switches on one of my controllers.

I find that it is way too sensitive. Even the slightest tap on the rocker switch will move it several degrees. This makes it very difficult to dial in a precise course or heading.

I searched the forum, but didn't see anything, but apologies if this has been asked before. Is there any way to tone down the sensitivity of the button and/or keyboard command for HSI inc/dec so that I can have more control?

Have you tryed reducing the sensitivity in your controlers options slider?

Can't be done in game.

Sounds like Guy's using a switch like the rockers on the base of the X-52 joysticks. If so there's no way to adjust their sensitivity either via SST. He might be SOL. Bummer cause after reading his idea, I wanted to do something similar.

Yeah, I couldn't find any way to change the input sensitivity for a joystick button key press. It is worse than I thought actually: even when you release the button the Course and or Heading Bug knob actually continues to rotate as if it had inertia! For instance if my Course knob is set at 180 and let's say I want to put it to 195, it is a matter of lucky timing if you can actually get the heading knob to stop within 5 degrees.

Using the mousewheel seems to be the only option at this point, but the whole point of mapping it to a controller is so that you don't have to use the mouse.

As many people coming to DCS from the world of FSX know, the function of mapping up and down functions such as hdg bugs, course knobs, radio knobs etc to a joystick rocker switch is such a basic function, that I'm actually going to report this as a bug that needs to be fixed.

I've started controlling the knobs via keyboard and for mentioned reasons it's very aggravating. Why can't 1 button tap equal 1 degree of change, and holding it would cause faster rotation?

Nothing worse than an over-sensitive knob.

I've ot the opposite problem actually. I use rotary encoders inluding one for this and I find I have to turn the knob far too much to get it to move!
