All backgrounds and a lot of icons in my menu screen are in really low resolution, as following screenshots shows:

I've checked my skins folder and those image files seem to be correct (in high resolution).

I haven't played DCS for a few weeks and when I picked it up there was the problem. I might have upgraded my DirectX and VS redist pack during those weeks but I can't remember it accurately.

I reinstalled DCS World along with DirectX June and VS 2010 redist, but it didn't work.

Besides, the forum doesn't recognize screenshots saved by DCS World as valid images. I have to re-export them with some other software before uploading. Is that a bug?

My laptop has an nvidia GT540M as well. Although I set both Launcher.exe and DCS.exe to use nvidia graphics, it seems to work with DCS.exe only (which has no image problem), and Launcher.exe sticks to Intel GPU.

Is there any way to force Launcher.exe to use nvidia GPU?

If I install DCS World in a fresh Windows system on the same laptop, there is no problem. Actually this is the second time I meet with the problem. When I tried DCS World for the first time, which was long long ago, the menu screen is fine. And after some weeks (maybe months) those low-resolution images appeared. Then I re-installed Windows and the problem was gone, and a few weeks later it came back again. So I think it's not simply the problem of my intel GPU.

have you considered it might be the power saving option in the windows?

and there is a power saving option in the NVIDIA CP also.

under power management mode.

Those options are "adaptive" and "prefer maximum performance". And it's always been "adaptive". I'm sure I've never changed that option.

I noticed when the menu screen is running the nvidia indicator reports no process is using GPU. The indicator will be active only after the game has been started. I don't know if it's normal.

Maybe I should make another fresh installation and see what the difference is?

Make sure you set it to prefer power performance.
