Loosing HUD Under Certain Lighting Conditions

Recommended Posts

I have notice since going to 1.2.2 that the HUD display is blending into the background under certain conditions. Direct sunlight, yes, this would be explected. I am loosing the ability to read anything in the HUD with other conditions unless I zoom in close to the HUD.

Is there a setting which can be changed to help with this situation? Is there a transparancy setting in any of the .lua files??

You can change HUD Colour, there's a keyboard command for that, I don't know what it is as I never use it so just check for it in Input settings

Do you mean change HUD from Day (green) to Night (amber) mode and vice versa? I had this problem as well, especially when flying towards white cloud. I switched off HDR in settings and problem is solved.

Already know about changing colors. This doesn't do anything. The display fades into the background during daytime settings. They hud view has a blue tint to the type display so whenever there are any background with white, blue or light colors, the display blends into the background. I failed to mention that this is only happening with the A-10C Hud view only. This is not happening with any of the other flyable planes.

Are you using HDR? I'm noticing the same thing with HDR set to "cold colors."

Mustang posted up a tweak to the sun bloom effect that has minimized the issue for me. I'm a little short for time but I'll try and find you a link, it may help a bit

System specifications: Computer, joystick, DCS world, Beer

I'll do a search also for the post, I appreciate the heads up

Found it. Turn "HDR" Off does make a big differance in HUD display.

Thanks again!
