stelios2000 Posted December 17, 2012 Posted December 17, 2012 (edited) Hello all, i have four tv/monitor screens : samsung 32" 1920x1080 EIZO 19" 1280x1024 two 8" 800x600. I want to use the 32" just to see the HUD and the left/right console the 19" for the front instruments using helios and the two 8" for the right and left MFD. I have made it to work the two MFDs when i have the A10C but after i switched to DCS WORLD A10C i have lost all the configuration but i know how to do it so it isnt difficult for me this part -i think :D I just dont know how to use HELIOS. I read the manual and made everything it says.... Now what i have done.... First of all, the first 3 pics show my 3 of 4 screens(the left MFD monitor is missing here) and their position I then downloaded the Gadroc A10C single monitor setup and edited the Big Screen.Lua file so here it is _ = function(p) return p; end; name = _('Big Screen'); Description = 'Left and Right MFCD positioned under Helios.' Viewports = { Center = { x = 0; y = 0; width = 1920; height = 1080; viewDx = 0; viewDy = 0; aspect = 1.7777777777; } } UHFREPEATER = { x = 1921 + 649 + 16; y = 0 + 670 + 24; width = 104; height = 68; } CMSC = { x = 1921 + 789; y = 0 + 100; width = 339; height = 168; } CMSP = { x = 1921 + 1126 + 21; y = 0 + 50 + 686; width = 309; height = 192; } RWR = { x = 1921 + 505; y = 0 + 102; width = 280; height = 280; } DIGITALCLOCK = { x = 1921 + 520; y = 0 + 830; width = 110; height = 110; } RIGHT_MFCD = { x = 1120; y = 1081; width = 800; height = 600; } UIMainView = Viewports.Center I then chose from the game 's OPTIONS menu the MONITOR : BIG SCREEN and of course change the resolution : 3200x1680 and the aspect changed automaticaly to 1,904761... I also edited the Gadroc A10C single monitor.hpf (helios file) by erasing some instruments i didnt want and the left and right console cause i dont have touch screen. I then press the RESET MONITORS then the ADD INTERFACE and connect it to the game and everything went ok. i RUN the Helios Control center chose the profile and run it so i got this image to the 19" then run the game as administrator WIN 7 64bit and unfortunately i got this: and this The 8" correctly shows black cause i havent tryed yet to make it show the right MFD. But the 19" shows the instruments STILL as they are BEFORE the game starts. Also the cockpit as you can see cant be seen. Any help would be appreciated thanks in advance stelios wanna thank my friend SWATY who is helping me in this ....ευχαριστω φιλε μου Edited December 17, 2012 by stelios2000
MTFDarkEagle Posted December 17, 2012 Posted December 17, 2012 Hi, Just to be sure: you installed and activated A-10C module right? Lukas - "TIN TIN" - 9th Shrek Air Strike Squadron TIN TIN's Cockpit thread
stelios2000 Posted December 17, 2012 Author Posted December 17, 2012 I have the latest version of DCS A10C and played many times alone and via net in multiplayer .... if i understand correctly what you meant thanks
Dropship Pilot Posted December 18, 2012 Posted December 18, 2012 I think you have two problems: a) Even without running Helios, you should be able to get the MFCDs, CMSP, CMSC, ... and the other stuff in the right position. Your BigScreen.lua looks ok to me. (The only thing I noticed is that you are using 1921 and 1081 as offsets instead of 1920 and 1080. This shouldn't be a problem but you might want to check it). You did edit/replace all those initialisation files? You might want to check PeterP's exports: http://files.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/145724/ ... and/or his Multi Monitor Guide: http://files.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/214771/ b) When you use Helios and reset the Monitors for some reason the bindings between the instruments and the A-10C interface are lost (at least that's my experience). You'll have to reconnect them manually :( (one by one, unless there's a better method that I missed) Cheers, Stefan
Gadroc Posted December 18, 2012 Posted December 18, 2012 When you use Helios and reset the Monitors for some reason the bindings between the instruments and the A-10C interface are lost (at least that's my experience). Gadroc Posted December 18, 2012 Posted December 18, 2012 It looks like you have Helios filling in a gray background on your 19" monitor. Uncheck the Fill box on the monitor properties for screen number 2. As Dropship said for the MFCDs and other things get them working with out Helios running first.
Dropship Pilot Posted December 18, 2012 Posted December 18, 2012 Hi Gadroc, thanks for chiming in. :) I just tried to replicate my problem with the missing bindings, but just when you try to provoke it nothing happens! However, in the past it happend at least 3 times - two times with the/an older version of the profile editor and once with the current version (1.2.176.447). It always involved moving the helios screen to a differend monitor. It's no big deal for me, but for someone with a complex touchscreen setup it might be differend. I'll keep an eye on it and when I find a way to replicate it, I'll let you know. Btw: Thanks a lot for this great addon! Cheers, Stefan
jrharter Posted April 16, 2014 Posted April 16, 2014 can someone just do this for me I'm obviously too old to learn how to do this and I have invested 100's of hours and $1,000's of dollars I will even pay someone a modest fee to set up my 2 mfd monitors.
