WildBillKelsoe Posted December 25, 2012 Posted December 25, 2012 It can't be. Weapons training mission. I just finished the first waypoint with 64 kills. 60 soft skinned utility vehicles, 4 AAA ZU-23 tracked. total 64 units destroyed. Just awesome... BTW, has anyone ever completed this mission? Groups respawn with increased defense capability. How long did u take to complete it? What was your score count? AWAITING ED NEW DAMAGE MODEL IMPLEMENTATION FOR WW2 BIRDS Fat T is above, thin T is below. Long T is faster, Short T is slower. Open triangle is AWACS, closed triangle is your own sensors. Double dash is friendly, Single dash is enemy. Circle is friendly. Strobe is jammer. Strobe to dash is under 35 km. HDD is 7 times range key. Radar to 160 km, IRST to 10 km. Stay low, but never slow.
AngryEchoSix Posted December 28, 2012 Posted December 28, 2012 I'll get back to you on that one...I just sensed a challenge.... 1
WildBillKelsoe Posted December 28, 2012 Author Posted December 28, 2012 Just a little heads up: That 64 was only the first waypoint, and there were remnants too... I think if you complete the mission, you'll stay sick the next day in bed, probably facing down the matress... On the plus side, you can cumulate some extra medals from this one. AngryEchoSix Posted December 29, 2012 Posted December 29, 2012 Did my first attempt last night, but got wrecked by a SA-18 on my first run, landed to re-arm/refuel, and my wingman called it a night, just went and parked it. Apparently you can't rearm them....LAME. Then I took some flak from a ZSU, and again, apparently, you are only allowed one repair per mission, because I couldn't get the option from the ground crew to repair again. Going to attempt it again tonight. Just gotta find the right load out for knocking out as many targets in one run as possible...

I recommend combined CBU87/97 loadout, with LASTE correction and dropping them from above the wind, down wind. Wingman can loadout the same, and open the mission to edit and put a FARP fuel depot/ ammo depot to be able to rearm. AngryEchoSix Posted December 29, 2012 Posted December 29, 2012 So If I set the home airstrip as a FARP, then the wingman will be able to rearm there as well? Does this open up new Ground Crew/Wingman commands? What about the repair issue? (I'm a bit brazen in my attack runs at times, which generally costs me a few systems in the process...)

I'm not sure about wingman (give it a try). Don't come too low with CCIP, use autopilot Alt/Hdg hold with PBIL on target and TGP spot on, and trim to keep both PBIL and CCRP solution cue on one line. Further, keep airspeed constant and avoid heavy pitches and rolls (that's why autopilot is the best on final CCRP with trimming rolls to align both on PBIL). Make sure your HUD lock is dead 12 o'clock (you may need a dive from 8 miles out to align then pull up and zeroize on pitch 0° with target dead ahead). If you need a quick tutorial, let me know. Is this the mission called "Weapons training mission" in the Single Missions folder? I was looking for a mission called '60 inch punch'. How do you add a FARP to the mission, it seems to be locked. Going to give it a try. Gotta blow some stuff up.

Sorry for misnomer.. it IS WEAPONS TRAINING.miz You add by selecting static US>Static Objects> FARP AMMO DEPOT/FARP FUEL DEPOT. Place 1 and copy and paste it and change it to the other. Save mission. I'll try editing it, but don't know if it is / is not locked. I'll check. AWAITING ED NEW DAMAGE MODEL IMPLEMENTATION FOR WW2 BIRDS Fat T is above, thin T is below. Zeke Posted December 30, 2012 Posted December 30, 2012 Yea, I was able to do this from the mission editor, before for some reason I was trying to do this from the mission planer. Doh! I added a FRAPS Ammo, and Fuel depot. Think I added a tent and command too, not sure. Got shot at the first time and something took out and engine. Knocked out a bunch of soft vehicles. Looks like a cool mission, just wish it had JTACs too, although don't need them.
