That's because you aren't editing the texture file, you are editing the Roughmet, which determines what physical texture for the file to represent, i.e. glossiness, roughness/smoothness, or metallic sheen. The file(s) you'll want to play around with are "f18c_cpt-texXX" (XX being the associated numeric identifier).
  4. What I'll do for this scenario is first get a straight line aligned across Diff_1 and Diff_2, in it's own separate layer, then use that as a reference "baseline" to align my text.
  5. So, I've generated the UV Map, no problems there was a painless procedure. Now, the issue I'm encountering is trying to pull that generated SVG file over into Photoshop for use as a "mesh" layer so I can get a feel for what needs to go where. Is there any guide available, or someone in the know that might be able to provide me some guidance?
  6. I have two more CubeSim screens on order (should be here HOPEFULLY before New Year), and I have an Arduino Mega that I'm going to make a switch panel out of, probably for the exterior lights, just to dip my toes into that aspect of it.

So after getting into DCS a bit more seriously, I found myself wanting more and more peripherals to make cockpit workflow a bit easier, add some more immersion to the experience, and all that other fun stuff. Then I realized that all these things were taking up valuable real estate on my desk, and making it quite the chore to just sit down and do some flying. By the time I had everything plugged in a positioned where I wanted it, I had lost the will to fly. Cue brainstorming. I didn't realize how deep the rabbit hole went....which leads me to this conglomeration of cobbled together things found in my garage or purchased at the local home improvement store. It's a constantly growing and ever evolving project I have entitled the "Suburban Pit" I'm starting this a few weeks after I have already made most of the things for it, and a day after my most recent iteration of my "front panel". A lot of it is not documented, but I decided to start documenting while I was building the newest front panel, so my apologies for the lack of some information. This is the recent iteration of my "Front Panel". Made from 15/32" sanded plywood, and tools used were all tools I already had in my garage - table saw, various measuring devices, jigsaw, palm router, and an 18ga brad nailer.   9. Tried the LUA that you modified, and it's still the same inside the Mission Editor. I even tried unplugging my CubeSim, and that had no change, as I thought that it might be causing the weird box to appear and make my life complicated, but that's not the case sadly. I'm at a loss here, but I do greatly appreciate the time you've taken to try and help me sort this out.

The start screen, in this case the DCS "splash" box that appears before the main background and loading bar appear are actually offset a bit low and to the left on my main monitor, and then the main background and loading bar are also a bit offset low left, but once the main menu loads in, it is all centered up nicely on my main screen. Left monitor is 1920x1080, center (main screen) is 2560x1440, and my CubeSim (in Windows it's my far right screen) is 800x600.   12. I decided to just click and drag my Kneeboard over to my left monitor during startup, takes 2 seconds and then I can forget about it, easy day. Thank you though for the information on the Kneeboard mod, much appreciated. Not sure if you have encountered this issue though - Now that my exports are working as desired, my mission editor is now borked in the sense that where a unit is placed and my cursor aren't aligned. Clicking to place a unit and where the mouse cursor actually is on screen is about a 4 inch gap. Not sure what could be causing this, but it wasn't happening prior to the screen exports. There is also a giant blue "wall" off to the right side of the screen that is unusable space.
  13. Was having a horrible time trying to do this on my own, at one point I even lost the F/A-18 model, and was just floating through the sky looking at superimposed displays and HUD. Then I found your post, downloaded the file you provided, edited it to meet my needs, and voila! Working as intended! The only issue I'm having is with the kneeboard export. I'm trying to have it appear on my left monitor (my setup from left to right is 1920x1080, 2560x1440, 800x600 (CubeSim). I input values for the export of the kneeboard to appear on the left monitor, but it keeps popping up at the bottom of my CubeSim screen. Not a deal breaker, because I can still click and drag it over to the left monitor, just takes some extra time, and I haven't even tested it with the IFLOLS yet, so that could end up being the same. Any advice?

  16. My buddy and I just completed the entire campaign over the course of a few days (v1.1) Had a blast playing it, with only a few minor gripes. I think it was mission 5 (the one with a fleet of Strela's and Shilka's) that no matter who contacted him and from where, the JTAC would not respond. I would also suggest that you add in the weather info to the briefing for the MP side, because that kind of stuff is always in a pre-flight brief, not the pilot having to rely on the JTAC for that kind of stuff. Overall, great campaign, fun to fly. Looking forward to more!

  18. So If I set the home airstrip as a FARP, then the wingman will be able to rearm there as well? Does this open up new Ground Crew/Wingman commands? What about the repair issue? (I'm a bit brazen in my attack runs at times, which generally costs me a few systems in the process...)
  19. Did my first attempt last night, but got wrecked by a SA-18 on my first run, landed to re-arm/refuel, and my wingman called it a night, just went and parked it. Apparently you can't rearm them....LAME. Then I took some flak from a ZSU, and again, apparently, you are only allowed one repair per mission, because I couldn't get the option from the ground crew to repair again. Going to attempt it again tonight. Just gotta find the right load out for knocking out as many targets in one run as possible...

  21. This has been irking me since I started playing recently. After either a successful or failed mission, I will occasionally get an award (in SP). I've tried searching high and low for what the requirements of each of the awards are, but to no avail. At one point it was suggested that is was a certain total point value that the awards were based on, but looking at my logbook, that is not the case. I'm curious as to what the requirements are, like destroy X amount of vehicles in one mission, ad on etc. Here is a screen cap of my logbook and the awards that I have so far, if that might shed some light on something.
