Training missions failing to continue.

All I can say is its a good thing that this isn't my first time doing the training missions otherwise I would be very angry.

 

I'm trying to go over the training missions again as I havn't flown the A10 is several months.

 

The only problem is, I've started right from the beginning and I'm up to the weapons Rockets and Guns training mission and so far the ONLY mission that I have been able to fully complete is the HOTAS Fundamentals.

Every other mission has stoped at some point or another. Always when the instructor disengages the AP so I can do a turn. Almost every time he doesn't come back when I'm flying dead centre towards the next flight waypoint.

 

I've even tried this

to get it to work but it doesn't seem to fix it.

 

Is anyone else having this problem or is it just me.

 

Also any suggestions or solutions would be helpful.

The missions should be working correctly. Hard to say what may be causing errors in your case without having a track file to check. You can save a track by running the mission from the Mission Editor or Mission menu. A Save Track button will appear on the debriefing screen.

I had the same problem. Most of the time when you are instructed to do a specific turn in 9 out of 10 ways the instructor is just not recognizing that you did it. Sometimes I fly a 360 until he recognizes that I did the turn. Sometimes when I RTB because of frustration the instructor kicks in again, although i am flying a complete different heading (because of RTB) than he instructed me to do so.

 

I stopped using the training missions and am using Youtube Videos and do Online flying + reading the Manual. It´s frustrating, but now maybe I know why the A-10 is the only DCS module which does have these Training missions and the others just have Videos. Because Videos just work :doh:

If you are finding that the instructor restarts talking when you are flying in the wrong direction, it sounds like you are not using the updated training missions as linked in the first post. Unfortunately there was a change in one of the heading triggers in the mission editor which broke about half of the training missions. This is fixed in the updated missions for v.1.2.2 in the link.
