RagingBunny Posted January 5, 2013 Posted January 5, 2013 Hello, I made a similar post on the controls forum, but I feel that this topic probably belongs here since the controls forum is mainly about joystick setups. This week I bought DCS A10C, but as it is now it's not playable. The game runs fine and smooth as long as I do not touch any controls, but when I use either the arrow keys or my joystick to manouvre, or when I pan around the cockpit, the game experiences 2 to 3 second freezes every 8 seconds or so. The freezing also happens when I slew the targetting pod. I run the game on an ASUS G73sw and I have the game installed on a SSD. I did a new, clean install of windows 7 to see if that would solve the problem, but it didn't. I have set the graphics settings everywhere between the highest and the lowest settings, but this did not make a difference. Installing the newest drivers for my thrustmaster flightstick-x didnt help. It really makes no sense to me because clearly CPU and GPU power is not the problem, and neither is my 8 gigs of ram. What could be causing this? I'd love to be able to enjoy this sim!

RagingBunny Posted January 10, 2013 Author Posted January 10, 2013 Thanks for taking the time to help me. Fortunatly, I was able to solve to the problem today. Doing a clean install of windows on the windows harddrive using a recovery-tool from my laptop manufacturer didn't work. So I formatted every single drive on my computer, installed windows and manually updated every driver. It works like a charm now! The stuttering is completely gone and I get great framerates. No idea what the problem was. But it's gone now! The ASUS G73SW is the model name of my ASUS laptop.
