Or is this a bug? All tutorialvids on radar i can find show the TWS radarcone remain 30/30°. When i activate TWS ingame the Cone ALWAYS reduces to 15/15°.

Any clues?

Normal RWS has 120º coverage, when you go to TWS you have that coverage reduced,to something like 60º(30º/30º as you say) but not 15º/15º,that is too narrow.

Youre right 60/60 and 30/30 was more correct. So overall it IS correct, that the TWS scancone is more narrow? Strange that the FC2 tutorialvids i saw show a scancone ov 60/60, even in TWS..

From what i can tell, the APG-63 (which is the one simulated in FC3) doesnt have the 15deg/6bar TWS scan. Only the APG-70 and APG-63(v1) have it. However the real thing has a high data rate option of 30deg/2bar scan. It also has a high data 30deg/3 bar scan (the APG-70 has this as well but not the APG-63(v1)).

Depends on the radar update version. 60 deg TWS limitation is late 80's limitation. Newer radar updates can TWS the entire gimbal space.

There's no point in making APG-63 and APG-63(v1) distinction. Upgrades to the APG-63 were always on-going. There were upgrades just about every year, with processing and memory capacity upgrades happening every few years. The APG-63(v1) is a design designation. You'll find that if you looked at various F-15C radars, they were all undergoing constant upgrades to keep current, and even if they're not designated as a certain version (unless it's a v2 or v3 which makes things very obvious) they were 'up there' in capability.
