intenseas Posted January 14, 2013 Posted January 14, 2013 First off, I would like to thank everyone on this forum for assistance with educating me and convincing me to build a custom machine. I settled for the machine in my signature within my budget. Now its time to choose an initial monitor configuration. Do you think 3 27" monitors is too agressive for the machine I have being bult? Will it be able to produce an acceptable frame rate? Should I consider 3 smaller monitors? Should I consider just running 1 large 37"-40" LED panel instead? Here are the 27" monitors I am considering: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Acer+-+27%26%2334%3B+Widescreen+Flat-Panel+LED+HD+Monitor/4979847.p?id=1218587068725&skuId=4979847 I have looked at so many configurations on this forum and have seen so many great setups! Thanks in advance for input and suggestions. Madone Posted January 14, 2013 Posted January 14, 2013 Hi, Your graphic card can handle it easily but if you don't overclock your CPU/RAM, you will be limited, I think 2x27" wouldn't be a big problem but 3x27" is huge. It also depend if you like to have eye candy instead of visibility, but you will have to make some compromise for sure. Madone Posted January 14, 2013 Posted January 14, 2013 Of course :D. Though it's always difficult to judge from a PC to an other, there is lot of things that comes in consideration. I don't have so much experience with multi monitors, but from what I know, you can handle 27"x3 but I can't tell what will be the FPS ... You will probably do fine with 3 monitors, since you have 4GB of VRAM, but the size does not matter, only the number of pixels. 3 1920x1080 monitors are going to provide the same load on your system whether they are 20inch or 48inch it is still the same number of pixels being processed. Going to a single monitor will definitely give you better performance even if it has higher than 1080 resolution just due to the lower total number of pixels involved.
