First Question: I received DCS's e-mail newsletter on 25 December 2012 indicating that DCS Combined Arms has been released and that the DCS 1.2.3 Update is available (which seemed to include Combined Arms 1.2.3 with a number of new features). However, when I go to the DCS e-Store to buy the product I see that it is stated as DCS Combined Arms 1.2.2 (English download beta 2 version).

I am very keen to buy DCS Combined Arms with the version 1.2.3 features. Is it currently available - and if so, how do I buy it?

Second Question: I tried to install the latest version of DCS World from the DCS website today. When installing I got the following message:

"Setup has detected that this computer does not meet the requirements to install this software. The following blocking issues must be resolved before you can install Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable Setup software package.

A newer version of Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable has been found on the machine".

Does this mean I will not be able to also use the current version of DCS Combined Arms?

I find this strange because I regularly use DCS A-10C Warthog (Steam version) with absolutely no problems. I even successfully played it AFTER DCS World failed to install to make sure that I could still play A-10 Warthog.

My Windows system is Win 7 Home Premium 64 bit.

I would really appreciate hearing from anyone on the forums who can assist. Thanks.

That error message shouldnt do any harm, it just says youre already up to date. Im not familiar with the setup, but maybe you have to close the Visual C++ setup and it will continue with the DCS World Installation.

Hi Ich666,

Thanks for your prompt reply. I did try to install after closing the Visual C++ setup. I did not get the same error message. However, when I clicked on the icon to load the program after installation I got the following error message:

"DCS_Updater.exe Application Error". The error code was (0x0000076), and it closed the application. So my current status is that I can load the program, I just cannot run the program.

I checked, and I have 2 Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable 10.04.40219 programs. One is x64, and the other is x86. They appear to have been installed on different dates and do not seem to correlate with the installations of any particular games.

I had a similar error code message (0x0000076) when I first install DCS World on my Win 7 x64 system.

I had the required files installed and DX9 x86 games worked without issue.

It was only when I deleted/moved my old DCS A-10 config files and re-installed both C++ Lib's and DX9 as per the Troubleshooting thread that DCS World loaded correctly.

I suspect I had the x86 versions of the DX9 dll's installed and that it was only when I downloaded the full DX9 install package (not the online installer) that the dll's were updated to the x64 versions. Of course as I don't really know why it wasn't working it could have been a pointer in the registry or just coincidence.
