backing up and restore LUA joystick profile gremlins

Last night I switch DCS to my SSD basically just to get any extra oomph I can get out of it on my old hardware. However of course before doing so, my control LUA file I backed it up. Then once the game transferred I loaded it up again, just to find that something very weird was happening. Some of my key binding where now off. I usually set my trim with Alt with the hat switch, however now they were set to shift and hat switch… and no not my mistake, (you get into the habit of your keys and they worked fine previously on my initial setup), basically they were switch and then the F15C weapons release which is Joy BTN 2 (even by default), heck it was greyed out now for my joystick, could not re assign that key for some reason, had to wipe clean the F15C and re assign all my keys manually.

 

Is this normal? Anyone else have these types of gremlins? Also note that usually assigning a key for 2 assignments is not possible (usually when you assign a key to an action it suppresses the other), however Joy BTN 3 default is center view, however my preferred choice was lock target, however If I would have not noticed it, it had the same button assigned to different assignment…

 

Maybe I’m just going crazy in my old age, but thought of bringing it up since this is weird and to be honest it’s a required pain to set your keys for each bird, takes hours to test and retest, then this thing happens and I have to recheck all of them. Mind you I’m already done for now (after a few hours more). But I’m curious if I’m the only one having this type of issues when loading LUA profile from a backup, same stick as well….

 

Not moving the directory anytime soon now, so all is good :D
