Woodstock Posted November 28, 2005 Posted November 28, 2005 Hi folks, I have a pretty dedicated question on this topic. After having read I guess almost everything on multi monitor support in flight simulators, I ran across the ability of LockOn to use this feature with a Matrox Parhelia Card on three monitors simultaneously. Now that this graphic card is not a high end one, so I envisioned the posibility (and a strong wish as well) to run LockOn on a computer with two graphic cards on three TFTs (2xPCIe or mixed 1xAGP+1xPCIe) under Windows XP span mode (w/ latest nvidia drivers). I could already test LockOn using two monitors with a single GF6800GT in span mode and it worked perfectly. Even more, LockOn´s graphic options showed me dual as well as *triple* monitor resolutions though there were only two monitors connected on a single graphics card. To melt it down to the point finally my question: Does the LockOn engine support triple monitors using two graphic cards? Thanks for any contributions on this subject and kindest regards. Guest EVIL-SCOTSMAN Posted November 30, 2005 Posted November 30, 2005 I couldnt tell ya, but i will test it out for you once i get my pc back next week, thats the best i can do. i could try and use 1 7800gtx and 2 normal pci video cards but i think it would be crap due to the 2 pci vid cards, as i have all of the kit available now, but i think it would be best to wait for my gaming rig to come back to me, as i really think the 2 pci gf3 vid cards will make a mess of it. if no one else answers your question, I will try and get 3 monitors to work next week. So you should have an answer either before then by some one else or by me next week. thats the best i can do, if anyone else has any info, then help out mr woodstock.
Woodstock Posted November 30, 2005 Author Posted November 30, 2005 Many thanx in advance, Scotty! Good that you have the neccessary hardware to hand to test it. I need to know before making the appropriate investments. Please remember that it´s about 3 monitors driven by only TWO graphic cards. Looking forward to your results! Anyone else got something to tell me about this? - Maybe someone who programmed dual and triple monitor support into LO? "For aviators like us, the sky is not the limit - it's our home!"
Guest EVIL-SCOTSMAN Posted November 30, 2005 Posted November 30, 2005 rgr, my good rig got sli, so it will only be using 2 cards, but as i say, it will have to be next week at earliest as its away getting fixed as the mobo or psu is b0rked. to tell you the truth, its you i should be thanking, cuz i never knew and didnt even think about lomac using 3 monitors, i have did it with il2 series of games, but never with lomac. I am quite excited at thinking lockon can support 3 tv's :) but saying that, i would presume that trackir is still better. but we shall see.
rasputin Posted December 2, 2005 Posted December 2, 2005 I'd also like to know about dual/multiple monitor support as I'm entertaining the idea of having a seperate screen just for the awacs/map view. I have an Asrock 939 dual sata2 so I can run three videocards but for the moment I just want to find out if Lomac supports two monitors using two seperate video cards. ----------------------------- AMD Athlon 64 3800+ Asrock 939 Dual SATA 2 mobo 1024 Corsair PC3200 XFX 7800GT Antec True Blue 480 Samsung 940B Track IR4 Saitek X-45 HOTAS Win XP Pro

Unfortunately the mail got lost in the spam filters and couldn´t be opened. The filter settings have been changed. Whoever "PL" is, please please send the mail one more time! Thanx in advance! "For aviators like us, the sky is not the limit - it's our home!"
Guest EVIL-SCOTSMAN Posted December 3, 2005 Posted December 3, 2005 he probably picked the wrong option, he picked send an email instead send a private message. anyway, if he has a solution for you, get back to me and tell me so that i know if you still need me to try it out. also if PL has any info regarding multiple monitors, then give it up :) cheers
