bSr.LCsta Posted November 29, 2005 Posted November 29, 2005 http://rapidshare.de/files/8313204/Bomber_Escort_001.rar.html Well, here is a mission for you to try if you are proficient with the 33. The flight time is approximately 2.5hrs so make sure you have the time, and get comfortable. The good news is if you are a decent pilot, you should only have to fly it 1 time. All though this is much longer than most missions I make, it is similiar in difficulty. I try to make missions that can be accomplished on the 1st try if you use smart tactics and READ THE BRIEFING! Let me know what you think. is this ok?
bSr.LCsta Posted November 30, 2005 Author Posted November 30, 2005 curious to get feed back from anyone who flies this? Thanks ;) is this ok?
Yellonet Posted December 1, 2005 Posted December 1, 2005 Two and a half hours!.... man... you DON'T want to make a stupid mistake like two hours in ;) i7-2600k@4GHz, 8GB, R9 280X 3GB, SSD, HOTAS WH, Pro Flight Combat Pedals, TIR5
bSr.LCsta Posted December 5, 2005 Author Posted December 5, 2005 ahhhh, someone with some balls! Did, you complete it Anivanov? is this ok?
Gazehound Posted December 5, 2005 Posted December 5, 2005 I downloaded this as soon as you posted it Loc, but ill probably have to learn to refuel before I embark on the mission :D VVS504 Red Hammers
bSr.LCsta Posted December 5, 2005 Author Posted December 5, 2005 I downloaded this as soon as you posted it Loc, but ill probably have to learn to refuel before I embark on the mission :D Yes, it is impossible to complete if you can't. The tanker travels with the group, and 2 refuels are required mid-flight to complete the mission. It is cool because all of the other planes refuel as necessary also. is this ok?
Yellonet Posted December 5, 2005 Posted December 5, 2005 Yeah... tried to make a refuel for about 15 minutes... couldn't do it... I'm not sure but it feels like that the refueling boom isn't where it seems to be from inside the cockpit.. there were several times when I was sure that I'd hit the basket but I just flew past it. Any tips? i7-2600k@4GHz, 8GB, R9 280X 3GB, SSD, HOTAS WH, Pro Flight Combat Pedals, TIR5
anivanov Posted December 8, 2005 Posted December 8, 2005 no tips.there was a moment when I tought it would be easy to aim the basket, and i tricked myself...................:icon_jook
Brit_Radar_Dude Posted December 15, 2005 Posted December 15, 2005 I assume this was designed for FC, but it ran reasonably OK on my v1.02, my average rig (Athlon3000,1024Mb,9800Pro) struggled a little with the FPS at times. I too am total pants at refuelling, got to bingo fuel so I was forced to cheat. Ordered my wingman to refuel. Once he came off the tanker, I ALT/J'ed into his bird, the AI then refuelled me, once "I" was full and disconnected, I ALT/J'ed back into my own ship. Nice weather / time of day, added to the atmos. Fun to fly formation with the big Bears, good practice for me. As YelloNet said, you don't want to make a mistake 90 minutes in, so I was real careful what I did during the engagements. I tend to fly the A-10 mostly, so I usually just pile in during a2a scraps and consequently get tagged. So this time I worked with my wingman, did some pre-fight manouevring and took sensible Pk shots. Sadly I still got a fail as the dumb AI Bears didn't manage to sink all the cargo ships, mostly they seemed to aim at the escorts(?) but that was an irrelevance really, as the mission was all about the long escort duty. Thanks for the recap Brit ;) I suspect the reason they failed was due to v1.02? I haven't ever had an issue with the bombers completing thier task (thats why there are so many of them :). As you said, it was about an escort, and as long as you did your job.... Did you land? is this ok?
Brit_Radar_Dude Posted December 16, 2005 Posted December 16, 2005 Probably was a v1.02 prob L()Csta. Getting FC is on my list of things to do. I only have crappy 48K dial up so a D/L is a no-go, gonna have to be on CD. NaturalPoint have it now for 14.95 USD, whereas still 29.95 GBP (thats 52.79 USD) over here at rcsimulations.com, If any of my friends visit the US in next few months, I'll maybe have them get a copy and bring it back for me. Did I land? No - that was the annoying part! I was only a few minutes away from having a go at landing in the fog and a bunch of friends who I was going out with for Xmas beers turned up early so I had to quit. I'll have to have a go at the landing another time........ [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Sorry Death, you lose! It was Professor Plum....
bSr.LCsta Posted December 16, 2005 Author Posted December 16, 2005 Doh! Well report back if you finish it ;) is this ok?
