Helios Q about screen position

Recommended Posts

Hi mates,

As the title suggests I´m trying to figure out the most effective position of my screens.

I have 2 monitors at the moment driven by my Ati 6870 crossfire setup. Primary monitor is 1980x1080 and secondary is 1600x1200.

Currently they're set side by side with the 1920x1080 on the left.

What would the consequences be if I put the secondary monitor below the primary?

Will it be easier for the GC to render 1920x2280 instead of the present 3520x1200?

The benefit of placing them vertically is that it´s easier to move the mouse from the Helios instruments and up to click in the cockpit than remember to drag the mouse left or right :)

Any thoughts on this. My feeling is that it´s better vertically but I´ve been wrong before ;)

1920x2280=4377600

3520x1200=4224000

It's better to go wide than stacked when setting up in Windows. It does not matter a bit where you want them in real life. ( I guess it matters to you as you don't want your mouse to jump, but the numbers don't lie. A smaller total pixel number is better).

Please note I never touch the mouse after clicking "Fly", so I am biased.

good luck!

Thank you, you´re right of course. I blame long work hours not to calculate that myself :music_whistling: :doh:

However I think I´l make a profile for the vertical to test and there will be a couple of 8" LCD monitors connected via USB to VGA interfaces for MFCD´s in the near future as well.

Thank you, did not think of the "reset monitor" option. Just have to correct the .lua then :)
