Tempest Posted February 4, 2013 Posted February 4, 2013 (edited) You veterans know this but this newbie found out the best way to take off on a FARP map is to TRIM a wee bit forward before take off-since the chopper is already trimmed when you start the mission as tail heavy. Seems to give me a more vertical takeoff. When I land on a FARP to keep from rolling forward during shutdown-while the rotors are still beating- I trim it tail heavy ASAP while holding brakes. Haven't tried shipboard landings yet but I can see FARP takeoff and landings will help. In OPTIONS I have selected Central Position Trimmer Mode. FWIW Edited February 4, 2013 by Tempest
Suchacz Posted February 4, 2013 Posted February 4, 2013 (edited) Parking (default) trim is different from take off trim or hover trim. So... yes, you should trim for take off. And after that again. And again. And again... ad infinitum  Edited February 4, 2013 by Suchacz Per aspera ad astra!
