Hello All --- new to DCS. Have it installed, and have been flying with the SU-25 during the learning process. I have noticed it takes some time for the game/simulation to recycle if you crash or get shot down, etc. Somewhat long, but reasonable.

Yesterday, I added the P-51. Various things happened after what appeared to be a successful install. First these recycle times were extended significantly. Reaction to menus is slow and long. Also as I move the cursor around the DCS screen, Windows icons flash on and off --- yikes!!! Before the P-51 install, none of this was happening while flying the SU-25. Now it happens on BOTH aircraft.

Any clues as to what is going on? I have a very fast machine. AMD FX-8120 at 3.9 GHz + 16GB ram and GTX 660i vid card. Cannot understand why everything changes after installing the P-51. I have RE-INSTALLED both DCS and the P-51 with exact same results.

HELP!!! :D Thanks --- Bob

I sometimes have this problem and a ctrl esc back to desktop then click on the DCS icon fixes it for me.

Ps. What framerates are you getting with what settings on that rig. I'm looking to upgrade.

Hi, welcome to DCS, if you have the game just installed, be to sure you have the latest update. Also run the game as admin and it should solve your cursor problem.

About the loading time, unfortunately there's not that much to do... just wait :/

Hello Rangi --- thanks for the reply and comments. Well, at least I am not alone with this issue. Think I am going to hold off adding any more modules until something is done or addressed relative to this issue. For me, it makes the DCS basically unusable. I wonder if users with just the A-10 added, see the same thing?

Anyway, good luck. For me, it is a wait and see game now.

Thanks --- Bob :D

Hi Madone --- thanks for the info! Well I assume I have the latest version of DCS since I just downloaded it a couple of days ago. Also it is my understanding that the new versions have automatic updating as well so I am assuming I have the latest and greatest. Hope I am right about that :D

Well, we will keep a watch for any improvements == and I am still perplexed about why adding the P-51 should take the performance down as it does for me. Oh well.

Thanks Again --- Bob :D

You're welcome, you should be good if you're using DCS World 1.2.2.7570. Yes it updates by itself now.

I don't have the P51 module installed, so I couldn't say if the loading time is greater, but i guess this is mechanic, the more you have, the more it loads. I'm afraid but I think you just have to wait the next update and see...

Regards.
