So I take my SU27 against 4 A10s and no matter what I do I always end up shut down. My ERs are missing their targets (shot from 25km or sometimes closer then that) and only after second or third launch, they manage to hit anything. By that time, other A10s close in on me and shoot me down.

What really bugs me is the perfect situational awarness Hogs have. Even if I shut down my radar, they always, at any point in time, know where I am and are flying towards me like a pack of drones. Couple that with poor missile performance, I find it a challenge to go against 2 of them, let alone 4.

It seems AI in this sim, wheter it's radar equipped or not, always seems to know where you are and are charging you untill they get close enough for a heater shot.

Now, we can discuss tactics but..in all seriousness, going against A10s in a Flanker shouldn't be that difficult. Ok. we all know the ERs are in need of serious tweaking but what's with this "Gods eye" the AI has with Awacs or not, radar or no radar? I was trying to circle them ie. go around them and get from behind but they always know where I am.

I don't think I had this much trouble going against human opponents in MP..flying Eagles and Flankers..let alone bombers.:joystick::D

The 27ER when launched needs a constant lock from your plane's radar to guide the missile, so I am assuming you stay locked and within gimble limits throughout its flight?

Also from 25k its hard to see/know the tactics of the A-10, have you tried getting in closer before launch?

^^Yes, I'm aware the ER as any other semi-active missile needs a constant lock and the gimbal limits aren't the issue (the missile fails even if flying straight towards the target).

As for the distance, I don't think 25km is too far away for a medium range missile launch..that would be some 15 miles or so which is ok. Not too far away, not too close.

The reason I would get in closer is for test purposes...I would put labels on and fire within visible range to target and zoom in to see what both the A-10 and the missile do and in the missile's case what it doesn't do.

^^Quite often (first) ER simply keeps flying straight eventhough the target had already started evasive manouvers..By the time I manage to shoot down a single A10, the other one is already launching Aim9s at me from close range..So, besides the poorly performing ER (usually I manage to get a splash on 2nd launch) the A10 AI knows exactly where I am, even with the radar turned off, they're constantly flying towards my position.

I usually launch little under 25km..but it takes at least 2 missiles for each target to get it done..

I understand, even if you have the 'Difficulty Level' set to high, 2x27er should be enough...

I kow there are a lot of articles in this forum about the missile modelling being less than true to life.
