ApoNOOB Posted February 23, 2013 Posted February 23, 2013 Hi there, in MP missions where lot's of A2A is going on the AWACs just gets spammed and is slow to provide answers. On top of that every FC3 Aircraft receives those messages. Wouldn't it be possible to make an option like "Provide Updates" or something, that you can get periodic updates (like bogey dope or request picture) only for the player that actually requested them? With 20 Players only ATC is annoying, add AWACs (and soon Tanker) on top of that and it get's very old soon. Next problem is that radio communications take very long (the response takes often very long - is this a server problem?) and sometimes you want an update on that <10miles bandit very quick. The more popular and organised FC3 gets, the more this becomes a problem. :(
Luzifer Posted February 24, 2013 Posted February 24, 2013 That's how radio works in real life: everyone on the same channel within range hears everything anyone transmits, only one station can be transmitting at any time and when the channel is very busy, you have to wait until you can get a word in edge wise. If you don't want to hear it, you have to tune out. You may have a point with the lack of priorization though.
ApoNOOB Posted February 25, 2013 Author Posted February 25, 2013 Yes yes, real life and all. Fact is that FC3 uses easy radio communications and every FC3 Pilot hears EVERYTHING that is said over the radio. And also wouldn't an AWACs warn friendly aircrafts from bandits that are approaching in real life? Please then somebody explain the procedures so we can get a discussion going how this would translate into DCS.
Drona Posted March 17, 2013 Posted March 17, 2013 Have to agree with ApoNOOB... AWACS and ATC is very annoying for FC3 aircrafts in multiplayer! Anyway that it can be turned off?
