Mortifa Posted March 15, 2013 Posted March 15, 2013 and then more. So I have been monkeying around with this for about a few weeks now and I gotta say. What an awesome product! Still not gotten through all the training videos and I know there is an incredible learning curve ahead, but slowly little things are coming together and those do add up. Almost got the gun figured out, just a bit more work to do. AA, learned a little about that, then did the training mission and learned that I knew a little less than I thought. AGM, still working on it, got a kill but that is one slick system and it does deserve the attention because, face it, we all want to reach out and touch someone....:smilewink: Going to keep plugging away because I still haven't done the bombs, or guided bombs, or rockets and maybe I should learn how to eject.....:book: Fate is inexorable...
Hamblue Posted March 15, 2013 Posted March 15, 2013 Stick with one thing at a time. Learn it well, then move on to the next. Since you started the AGM I'd learn it inside and out, then move on to the next weapon. Of course before doing any of that, make sure you know how to fly and land well :music_whistling: Asus Sabertooth P67 Motherboard 2600k CPU, 16 gig DDR3, 1600. Mortifa Posted March 15, 2013 Author Posted March 15, 2013 Well, I do the training missions, then look at some training videos, and then grab the related mission and just horse around, gotta have some fun! I do wish there was an easier way to start at any airport you choose. Made myself a quick mission with Batumi as my start point, great little area to just fly around plus it has the ILS to practice on, great for touch and go's. Fate is inexorable...
NullSpace Posted March 15, 2013 Posted March 15, 2013 As another relative new player, I have a piece of advice for learning weapons: low-tech first. This comes from much more experience pilots I fly with, and it's been helping me a lot. Learning basic dumb bomb drops without the TGP early on will help you learn situational awareness and target spotting. I started off using GBU-12's and Mav's with the TGP, and just recently I've started doing a lot of practice with Mk-82's, and I have to say that I feel like I'm improving overall skills much more this way than with the TGP. Like I said though, I'm pretty new as well, just passing on advice that seems to be helping me. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
