FZG_Immel Posted March 17, 2013 Posted March 17, 2013 (edited) Ok.. I have not a great connection... DSL 1024/256 and I get something like 120kb/s down and 45kb/s up, with a 60 average ping on speedtest.. Now, that being said I can fly smoothly in il2, falcon BMS or even FSX VRS... (or any fps such as bf3, as a matter of fact) But with dcs word I have a strange lag/warp issue.. Everything seem smooth, and every 3-4 second I get some kind of lag/warp... It's almost like my plane changes it's position slightly. Do any of you have an idea why this is happening ? I'm talking about only 2 of us in a very small mission. 2 planes, 7 enemy vehicles. Noting else. And he's got a good host connection. What option should I use for multiplay ? LAN ? 1024 ? Less ? Could this be linked to my CPU being slightly over clocked ? (I noticed it gives me some sound lag in bf3) Thank you Edited March 17, 2013 by FZG_Immel [sIGPIC]https://forums.eagle.ru/signaturepics/sigpic70550_3.gif[/sIGPIC] Asus Z390-H - SSD M.2 EVO 970 - Intel I9 @5.0ghz - 32gb DDR4 4000 - EVGA 3090 - Cougar FSSB + Virpil WRBRD + Hornet Stick - Thrustmaster TPR Pedal + WinWing MIP + Orion + TO and CO pannels - Track IR5
FZG_Immel Posted March 18, 2013 Author Posted March 18, 2013 it was the CPU overclock (3.33 instead of 3.00). I reverted to original freq and the lag/warp was gone [sIGPIC]https://forums.eagle.ru/signaturepics/sigpic70550_3.gif[/sIGPIC] Asus Z390-H - SSD M.2 EVO 970 - Intel I9 @5.0ghz - 32gb DDR4 4000 - EVGA 3090 - Cougar FSSB + Virpil WRBRD + Hornet Stick - Thrustmaster TPR Pedal + WinWing MIP + Orion + TO and CO pannels - Track IR5
Hubris Posted March 18, 2013 Posted March 18, 2013 Only happens to me when there are more than 4 players. I have my settings at LAN. I reverted my CPU freqs to stock and didn't make a difference for me.
ENO Posted March 20, 2013 Posted March 20, 2013 (edited) 3.33 for a 950 is nothing... so I'm wondering if that's just a coincidence. Although to overclock the 950 you would have also been overclocking the RAM (upping the b-clock) unless you accounted for that (not sure of your overclocking expertise). In addition if you kept the turbo mode on it may be creating instability across a broad spectrum. If you are a good overclocker with some knowledge I'll assume that you have considered these things... however I'd be very surprised if a proper overclock with adequate cooling at that minute speed would have any effect on the game.
