I'm unclear and confused on the relationship and upgrade procedure of DCS a10c 1.1.1.1 to DCS world 1.2.3.

As of now, I run DCS A10C v1.1.1.1. I have downloaded and installed DCS world 1.2.3. I noticed that a DCS A10C v1.2.3 module is available, but I have yet to download.

I'm a little confused on how to go about getting everything upgraded to the latest and greatest. Am I correct in assuming that when I run DCS A10C v1.1.1.1, I am not running anypart of DCS world? Do I need to install the A10C module and uninstall v1.1.1.1? What happens to all my settings and configuration in when I go to run the module 1.2.3?

I would love some clarity on how to go about this. Thanks so much.

Mike

Correct.

Yes, and you can leave 1.1.1.1 or remove it. Both can coexist just fine.

You have to set things up from scratch I am afraid. There have been enough changes that copying config files would break things.

Btw, when you install the A-10 module, it will pick up your key from your previous installation of v1.1.1.1 so no worries there either.

Thank you so much. Makes more sense now. I've been trying to get some of the newer Helios profiles to work with A10C 1.1.1.1 and they don't interface at all. I'm wondering now if that is the issue. Perhaps they only work with DCS world.

There have been changes that affect Helios but not the profiles themselves but the export. There is a thread around here with the fix for 1.2.3. Let me look for it.

EDIT: Go to this post and dl the attached file.

In your Saved Games\DCS folder create a folder called 'Scripts' and place the file in it.

That will fix the basic exports for Helios.

Are you using EMC to arrange the viewports?

You might want to look here as well.

Hope this helps.
