JG14_Smil Posted March 19, 2013 Posted March 19, 2013 (edited) Hello, I finally took some time to sit and try to edit a .tfs file for my Ka-50 cockpit and the TFS3 seat. I set BS to run in a window, opened all those confusing Ivibe windows and graphs and started at it. [edited] Here is my most tested version. It is the one I am flying with and it seems OK across the board. List of Effects: Engine produces a bit of a thump feel at full rotor speeds. Collective produces a bit of change in feel. Ground roll texture added. Wheel brake produces a shudder when stopping. Gear retract and deploy are timed closer with LEDs. There is a transition from ground to flight. Air texture builds a bit with speed, but does not overwhelm like the default files. Cannon has a pretty good shake. Has some G effects. It is hard to make G movements with the low RPMs of the helicopter. Can be used with or without sound. Some squelch added to remove unwanted ticking of seat during rotor spool up. This is removed in v3 file. Unzip file to My Documents\VRF\TFS3 Files\ Use TFS CP buttons to turn off all bar graph LEDs (top button, hold left button, bottom button). This will help get a slower helicopter vibration. You may need to invert your collective 'Z' axis in the TFS3 CP \ Settings \ Intellivibe \ Plane \ Translator. You can use ...Tools\ Data Spy to see if the control is working in the proper direction (if running DCS in a window and you have extra desktop). Edited March 28, 2013 by JG14_Smil
JG14_Smil Posted March 23, 2013 Author Posted March 23, 2013 (edited) Latest version that I am now flying with. It has the squelch lowered and there is some buzzing when rotors start turning and spool up, but I find this very enjoyable for flying BS2 compared to anything else I have tried. Enable the head movement with G forces option in DCS and the shaking shown sometimes matches the vibes you feel... "wow!" I believe this is all I can do until control panel updates arrive. JG14_Smil Posted April 1, 2013 Author Posted April 1, 2013 (edited) version 4 Here is version 4 of my .tfs file. If you use this one, set all the TFS CP LEDs on across the board, or as you like. (Top TFS CP button, hold right button until all LEDs are on, then bottom button.) This version has all effects of v3 with more G effects and I especially like the way this one feels when the rotors are spooling up to full. To note the G's, place helo in RD ALT HOLD mode and fly over a city. You will feel G's without touching any controls. Also please note: this is setup to shake you! One thing I have added is a more shake when you first start a ground roll. When you have the G forces head movement enabled, it matches up pretty well at this time. My collective is reversed from most, so you may have to invert that axis in the TFS CP Intellivibe "Plane Translator". After further testing: I don't usually say self-serving things, but v4 is very good! :) ADDED LATER: I found a way to get a better "chop" effect and I balanced it between ground and flight a bit better than v4. I have attached version 5 for comparison. It is very easy to test the different versions when running DCS is a window. I keep an options.lua in a temp folder just for testing purposes, then go back to multi-monitor. Edited April 2, 2013 by JG14_Smil further testing

JG14_Smil Posted April 5, 2013 Author Posted April 5, 2013 (edited) I have now tested with TFS CP version 1.9.271.1409 (April 3 2013 release). Both these file versions (v4,v5) are tested with latest TFS CP version and work fine. thanks for visiting, zaelu. Edited April 6, 2013 by JG14_Smil
