JG14_Smil Posted March 25, 2013 Posted March 25, 2013 Hello, I am having fun with my free trial Sound Editors and am making some changes that really help my BS2W setup. I am looking for reccomendations for Sound Editor Software. I need one that can do Batch files. I would like to point it at a folder and say "add this filter to each file" and presto, all the wav files there get modified. I don't mind buying it. Thanks.
Quirkitized Posted March 25, 2013 Posted March 25, 2013 I am not sure if you are aware of Audacity http://audacity.sourceforge.net/ It's free, and good sound editor, lots of tutorials out there for it. As far as batch file editing, unaware if it's possible. Just throwing this out there for a sound editor program suggestion.
Keshman Posted March 25, 2013 Posted March 25, 2013 Sometimes for work with the sound I use a program Ashampoo Music Studio 3. The program can work with sound folders. And much more... Devrim Posted March 26, 2013 Posted March 26, 2013 Audacity is a good software. I used to wprk with CoolEdit. It was better than Audacity. But I couldn't manage to work on Win7. JG14_Smil Posted March 27, 2013 Author Posted March 27, 2013 (edited) Thank you guys. I am able to do batch files with Wavosaur. Not crazy about the editor, but I pointed it to one of my ATC folders and it modded them all the way I like in a few seconds. Edited March 27, 2013 by JG14_Smil
Milli Posted March 27, 2013 Posted March 27, 2013 Reaper is very good. Its free to try forever! Or you can buy it to stop a short nag screen at start up. Excellent reviews everywhere. See here for the homepage: http://www.reaper.fm/index.php Quote from website that would be of interest to you: 'Sound Design and Game Development REAPER has many features to help automate repetitive tasks, such as custom UI macros and ReaScripts written in Perl or Python. Easily render many files at once with an innovative and flexible system of region render wildcards. Batch processing tools for processing/converting files, queued render support, extensive command line options for automating REAPER from other applications or scripts. Read/write compressed file formats directly, and read/write multichannel (up to 64 channel) files. REAPER's project file format is human readable and easily created/modified using other tools/scripts. JS: Native audio/MIDI processing script language included, great for custom processing.' JG14_Smil Posted March 28, 2013 Author Posted March 28, 2013 Thanks very much Milli, I use shakers and being able to edit whole folders at a time allows me to keep unwanted sounds like voices from going into my subwoofer amp system. Next step will be for me to have sounds like the rotor increased to try and get my 'thump'. While I've got a lot on my plate, I am enjoying the sound editing a lot and the cockpit just gets better and better. I'll look into all the different softwares mentioned when I get time.
