Thrakazog Posted April 2, 2013 Posted April 2, 2013 Re-posting here since I've gotten no responses in DCS world forum yet: Hey all, So, 1.2.2 would not update to 1.2.3 for me. I posted a thread on the problem, and the answers I got to fix the issue was to download 1.2.3 and all modules, uninstall 1.2.2, and install 1.2.3 in it's place. My concern was having to use up activations, since after a few more updates, I would have to buy everything again. I was told it would not be a problem, and at first that seemed to be the case. But every time I start one of modules (A-10c, P-51d, etc.), I get the window asking for my activation code. If I hit exit, the module continues to load, and everything appears to work so far. I'm wondering if I just have to put up with the activation windows hounding me after the 1.2.3 update, or will using up my activations be the only way to stop it, eventually leading to having to re-purchase everything after a few more updates ? Thank you for any suggestions on how to fix this. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] i-5 2500k 4.1ghz, 16GB 1600mhz CL8 RAM, Nvidia GTX 690 SLI, X52 Pro
Azrayen Posted April 2, 2013 Posted April 2, 2013 Do you have BS2 module? If yes, as you've made a full reinstall instead of using the auto updater, check you haven't downloaded and installed the "upgrade (from BS1)" version of BS2 module, in place of the "full" version (or the other way around), that's a common mistake. See the module installer filename.
Thrakazog Posted April 3, 2013 Author Posted April 3, 2013 Thank you for your response, Azrayen. I had all the correct modules installed. I double check all that stuff. I ended up just re-entering all my activation codes to stop the activation window from hounding me. All seems to work fine at the moment, so hopefully future updates go a little smoother for me. Thanks again for taking the time to respond. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] i-5 2500k 4.1ghz, 16GB 1600mhz CL8 RAM, Nvidia GTX 690 SLI, X52 Pro
Teapot Posted April 3, 2013 Posted April 3, 2013 I did do a successful update using the DCS World updater to 1.2.3 and I also had to sacrifice an activation for each of my modules. Is there something that I need to be aware of to stop this from happening when I update to the next series? On at least 2 of my modules I noted that I only had 4 activations left. Cheers!
