chromium Posted April 11, 2013 Posted April 11, 2013 Hi, I'm writing here and not in the bug section assuming that by selecting any view option for the F10 map, in fact the CA battle commander client/player have always the "fog of war" map, it is a feature or wanted behaviour instead of a bug. Is it possible to modify such thing by enforcing a "map only" or a "my AC" view for a particoular Combined Arms client (even by script)? What I want is that some CA user have the command map as Fog of War, some other have not, cause those one will be a 1st person driver only but need the map to understand road and visual references. Or at least limiting range of detection (es. to makes flight visible only whithin some ranges... for all, server and clients) Thanks, Chromium Author of DSMC, mod to enable scenario persistency and save updated miz file Stable version & site: https://dsmcfordcs.wordpress.com/ Openbeta: https://github.com/Chromium18/DSMC The thing is, helicopters are different from planes. An airplane by it's nature wants to fly, and if not interfered with too strongly by unusual events or by a deliberately incompetent pilot, it will fly. A helicopter does not want to fly. It is maintained in the air by a variety of forces in opposition to each other, and if there is any disturbance in this delicate balance the helicopter stops flying; immediately and disastrously.
Grimes Posted April 12, 2013 Posted April 12, 2013 Its currently forced to Fog Of War and there is no way to change it for CA roles. Only Game Master and Observer have different settings and they are basically forced to "view all". Having varied views for different ground commanders is an interesting idea. I'd be quite happy if "what is revealed" is opened up to the scripting engine, I shall add it to the wishlist. :) The right man in the wrong place makes all the difference in the world.
