@Gripen: it's never to late to become a glider pilot!

1- The view from the cockpit is as good or better than on any modern fighter jet.

2- A winch launch is almost like a catapult take off from a carrier ;)

3- They are incredibly rewarding: You can stay up for hours when you know how to use all the energy present in the atmosphere.

4- And last but not least, they are fully acrobatic.

I must tell you it´s something I´ve been thinking about! A friend of mine a couple of years ago flew gliders, about a year older than me, and suddenly he disapeared from our small town, and the last thing I heard about him a couple of weeks ago is that he is flying the Gripen now! :)
