Hey everyone! I have an issue. I want to put the throttles on my keyboard from off to idle, but simply cannot do it. I have used the default key commands, changed the key commands as well as had my throttle set to 0 before I tried to step them up. Can anyone help me? I spent my hard earned money on this game and can't even play on multiplayer servers because they all require a ramp start. Any help is appreciated! :helpsmilie:

I'm not sure I understand your problem here, but setting throttle from off to idle basically means starting the engine. IIRC default key combination for this is RAlt + Home for left engine and RCtrl + home for right engine. You'll need to start the APU, have power (from APU generator or ground electric power) and flick the fuel booster switches first.

The shortcut for putting the engine controls have already been mentioned. If you are not sure, look in the controls section. You need to have your throttle set to zero before the shortcut works.

Be sure you move the throttle once you are in the sim. The sim may not sync your controls after loading so your throttle may be not at 0 while your physical throttle is at 0. Simply throttle up and down again to make the sim sync the controls.

You may also try controls indicator (RCTL+Enter) to make sure the throttle is really at zero. It may be that your throttle isnt calibrated correctly so that your throttle reports some value > 0 even if your lever is at zero. In this case you have to calibrate it correctly.

I've had the same problem for a couple of years. I really haven't been able to explore this sim.

Simply: The throttle does not move when they keyboard command: RALT HOME or RCTL HOME is pressed. No response at all when trying to start the engine. I read a few posts that suggested I use RALT END and RCTL END before I tried to move them to the idle indent. It made no difference. If I create a quick mission and take off from runway, the NUM+ and - work fine. I even tried the cheat RWIN HOME to try to bypass it, but no joy at all.

Do you have a joystick or something else bound to the throttle axis, or are you running keyboard only? Did you check the throttle is at 0 using RALT+ENTER before trying to start the engine?

Talking about starting the engines, there are about 14 steps in a cold start before you normally

star your engines.

Have you done all these step correctly ?

Have you done the training mission ? The instructor will guide you, but you have to follow him by the letter.
