Exorcet Posted April 22, 2013 Posted April 22, 2013 I just want to know if this is possible. I know I can use trigger zones to make them "jump" across, but is there another way? Grimes Posted April 22, 2013 Posted April 22, 2013 Not possible, like some of the smaller vehicles in the sim, infantry need a bridge to cross water. Oznerol256 Posted April 22, 2013 Posted April 22, 2013 Not possible, like some of the smaller vehicles in the sim, infantry need a bridge to cross water. Does this mean some heavier vehicles can cross a river? What units can cross a river? BTW, the attached Screenshot shows a nice bug i found with the alignment of a 40-vehicles group trying to hold at an on-road waypoint near the coast. Ill see if i can reproduce that and post a track if someone is interested [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Grimes Posted April 22, 2013 Posted April 22, 2013 Yeah that happens occasionally, when AI are ordered to go near water and are in formation. Technically speaking the game has two variables to define whether or not a vehicle can cross a river or wide body of water(amphibious), however only river crossing is implemented. Both variables were added with the A-10C release I believe. Most tanks, IFVs, etc can cross the small rivers but not lakes, the black sea, or wide rivers. Vehicles that can't cross rivers are basically infantry, small cars, and heavy wheeled military vehicles. The right man in the wrong place makes all the difference in the world.
