ozTRipwiRE Posted April 28, 2013 Posted April 28, 2013 Hi, I am looking around for a new flight stick and maybe some rudder pedals and I have a few questions about input for games such as DCS Warthog, DCS Black Shark, Flaming Cliffs 3 and similar games. I suppose that they would support multiple controllers so that I can use a Thrustmaster Warthog flight stick with CH Pro USB pedals, for example. Is this correct? Also, regarding the Thrustmaster Warthog stick I heard that it has no twist-stick rudder movement and that, without pedals, rudder is controlled by some sort of movement of something on the throttle panel. Is that the case? If so does that function okay? I do play helicopter flight sims. Would that type of rudder input work okay for flight sims including those chopper sims? I am looking into maybe buying some CH Pro USB rudder pedals and have seen some on the ‘PC Aviator’ site, but I don’t know anything about them. Has anybody bought from them and had a good or bad experience? Any feedback would really be appreciated. :helpsmilie: Thanks, ozTRipwiRE
metalnwood Posted April 28, 2013 Posted April 28, 2013 If you have the $$ for both then there is no question, especially if you fly helos. Using an axis on the throttle might work ok for some things, I wouldnt like it and I think it would not work well at all for a helicopter. I have had the CH pedals, they are OK but I prefer the saitek combat pedals because the foot spacing is a bit farther apart and the resistance can be adjusted. The CH pedals move very easily when you rest your feet on them, you can inadvertanly be applying rudder when you dont mean to. You can plug many controllers in to the computer for DCS. I might have had 5/6 at most.
Panthro Posted April 28, 2013 Posted April 28, 2013 "can work" and "works well" are 2 very different things. Far better just to get both, but if you dont have the $$ for both on the same week get the WH & use keys or something temp till the $$ for rudder pedals arrive.
