Home Fries Posted May 4, 2013 Posted May 4, 2013 (edited) The UH-1H skin labeled "US NAVY" is actually a US Marine Corps helicopter with a tailcode for the HMLA-169 Vipers out of Camp Pendleton, CA. I recommend renaming the skin (perhaps "USMC HMLA-169") to avoid any confusion. Certainly a small bug in the grand scheme of things, but I felt it was worth mentioning. Thanks for a great module! :joystick: Edited May 4, 2013 by Home Fries -Home Fries My DCS Files and Skins My DCS TARGET Profile for Cougar or Warthog and MFDs F-14B LANTIRN Guide
Sundowner.pl Posted May 6, 2013 Posted May 6, 2013 Just FYI, even though the US Navy never used the UH-1H, they did use the UH-1D in their Helicopter Training Squadron 8: This could do nicely under the USN paint scheme name (since the USMC one is fictional too). Home Fries Posted May 7, 2013 Author Posted May 7, 2013 The Navy also used the B and C models in Vietnam with HA(L)-3 in support of special warfare operations, and upgraded to the K model later on. The Marine Corps skin is based on the UH-1N, so it is only fictional in the sense that it doesn't match the UH-1 variant modeled. Personally, I can live with that; the H will have to be a surrogate for all Hueys for the time being, though I would love to see a twin-shaft version at some point. -Home Fries My DCS Files and Skins My DCS TARGET Profile for Cougar or Warthog and MFDs F-14B LANTIRN Guide
