SniperRu Posted May 5, 2013 Posted May 5, 2013 Hi, I'm a little confused on how to install the DCS/modules. Like pointed out in the title, I already own FC and BS1 (both RU version), I see that on the download page I can download both FC3 & BS2, does that mean I get them for free since I own previous versions? Also: - I have several mods (ModMan) installed for FC & BS1, do I need to remove them or make a clean install before upgrading? - Should I download and install DCS first?
Rongor Posted May 5, 2013 Posted May 5, 2013 (edited) FC and BS1 are old stand alone simulations that are not updated anymore and also are not compatible to DCS World. If you want to switch to the new DCS World, you can get BS2 priced as an upgrade and also FC3. Both modules are available only for guys like you, that have ancient FC and BS1 installations present. Of course you need the DCS World as a basis for them. Look it all up on the DCS site. They really explained it very well. Edited May 5, 2013 by Rongor

Ok but what is ''priced as an upgrade''? where can I find this? what really confuses me is what I see here: http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/downloads/modules/lock_on_flaming_cliffs_3/ I can just download the upgrade without any payment?

But at the first use of an installed module, a serial key is required. And this serial key is achieved by buying the module. I would suggest looking into the E-shop if you want to shop. And then visit downloads for downloading. It's pretty simple. You can buy the BS2 upgrade for BS1 owners and save 10 USD...
