Art-J Posted May 27, 2015 Posted May 27, 2015 Thanks, will surely take a look at the startup part (if sloppy DCS replay system allows me to, of course :D). i7 9700K @ stock speed, single GTX1070, 32 gigs of RAM, TH Warthog, MFG Crosswind, Win10.
msalama Posted May 27, 2015 Posted May 27, 2015 I usually run up the Merlin with rads open while going through the preflight until the oil temp reaches 30, do the mags & prop check last and off I go. No powerplant failures so far. While enroute, I put the rads on auto and pretty much forget about the whole thing. Again, no powerplant failures so far, though it has to be said that I _did_ suffer a couple previously when I just left them open, because the engine was then running too cold! Anyway, no engine seizures whatsoever as of late, after starting to pay some real attention to WTH I was actually doing up there :D PS. I'm a pseudo-Korean groundpounder so I'm probably not stressing the crate to the max unlike ye fighter slickers, so yeah, there IS that admittedly. The DCS Mi-8MTV2. The best aviational BBW experience you could ever dream of.
Rapidfire Posted May 27, 2015 Posted May 27, 2015 Make sure you turn the starter off after the engine starts up! That got me every time until I figured it out. Happy flying! :pilotfly: my toggle starter is a flip and hold falls back into place when let go? :music_whistling:
Echo38 Posted May 27, 2015 Posted May 27, 2015 my toggle starter is a flip and hold falls back into place when let go? Addressed a few posts back (first paragraph): http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=2402411&postcount=21
