Hi,

I tried a quick search but couldn't see anything off hand to address my issue.

Our group wants to adapt an already made mission to include CA users. Basically we just want to add vehicle slots for the red faction. There are plenty of red ground units in the mission but I'm wondering whether I need to have CA installed in order to edit the mission to be CA-compliant. I tried selecting a unit to make it playable but I see no player or client option for it. I noticed the same thing when trying to add FC3 units (I only have DCS World and A-10C installed).

Check CA and GUI manuals, setting up CA players is pretty different than flyable clients :)

The thing is, helicopters are different from planes. An airplane by it's nature wants to fly, and if not interfered with too strongly by unusual events or by a deliberately incompetent pilot, it will fly. A helicopter does not want to fly. It is maintained in the air by a variety of forces in opposition to each other, and if there is any disturbance in this delicate balance the helicopter stops flying; immediately and disastrously.

hi there,

in the editor on the left side you will find the symbol with the two flags called "battlefield commanders". "pilot can control vehicles" is the minimum that needs to be checked.

second you need to check your ground unit groups. if you select one, it should give the option "player can drive" where for an aircraft might stand "uncontrolled" (for reference).

that should help you so far.

btw:

usualy you click on a groundunit via the F10 map and hit a button there, so units will not show up in the aircraft selection list in a game.

regards,

RR

Thanks, roadrunner. I'll give that a go.

One other thing (and I know these are probably silly questions but please bear with me), I have included a SU25 as flyable but I need this to be on the blue side. How to do this?

Choose Su-25 from a blue coalition nation :) (ie Georgia, usually by default blue)
