ScEBlack1 Posted December 19, 2005 Posted December 19, 2005 When im in tws mode and range is 50nm and i have an enemy tick in the middle of the hud, does this mean that he is around 20 to 25nm away. So when you have an enemy tick at the top of your hud he is 50nm away is this correct. What is the distance of each line on the hud to the right(i think or left) when in 50nm settings. Thanks

Thanks Unless I'm missing something here- it would be KM not NM. Big difference. In this shot- you see the top of the HUD has 100 KM at the top- there are 4 increments below that, so we have 20 km per increment. Most of the bandit contacts here are 50 to 60 km away from me. In this shot- same setup only the top range is 5 km. well ok 5 increments. But since the bottom one pretty much equals "collision" I'm not sweatin it. Force_Feedback Posted December 19, 2005 Posted December 19, 2005 In the real aircraft, all the sub-rangemarks are displayed as well (so you'll see the 20km mark and so on as well, but for a strange reason ED left it out? I know the hud is only a fraction of what is in the real planes, but why not add the numbers besides the marks? I don't think its very difficult to do, and would icrease immersion. Yeah, but then you get onto the slippery slope of "in the real aircraft . . . . " and a hundred and eleventy-twelve pages of suggestions, some of which are real/reasonable and some which aren't. In time we'll get our realistic Su27 . . . in time . . . fingers crossed . . . . it was you that posted the datalink and NAV HDD pics, wasn't it? Mmmn . . . . that'd be brilliant . . . . and carrier landing in an Su33 with AFM as well . . . . One day, it's going to happen. Yum. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v121/britgliderpilot/BS2Britgliderpilot-1.jpg
