So My game will crash when i try to start dcs world. I have repaired the instillation and unplugged all peripherals. It doesn't record a crash log unfortunately. The odd thing is multi-player works perfectly fine, but i cannot get into DCS world to edit any settings. If anyone has insight on the issue it would be appreciated.

Crashes at Loading screen 10%

Hmmmm... is it actually crashing or is it locking up?

Wonder if your firewall allowed the updater to do its check with the old version and now it is being blocked and causing the program to stall.

So is it an actual CRASH to desktop or does it just hesitate?

I'd be taking a hard look at any activity that may be new now that you've updated?

Just shooting out ideas here-

Hi there! First time posting, but you lot have helped me a lot more than you know.

I feel your pain, Marshtron. I've been really, really struggling with this myself. I would start up DCS World, then the game would crash to desktop as soon as I attempted to load a mission. It would go to the loading screen and crash.

I have Win 7 64 bit, with a NVIDIA GEFORCE GTX 660M. I use a notebook with an i5 and 8GB RAM and installed the game on a SSD. The 32 bit hacks didn't help. I eventually fixed it with the following (I don't know if any one of these things would have done it, but I thought I'd put the whole lot down).

1) Uninstalled ALL DCS stuff.

2) Uninstalled DirectX and C++ libraries.

3) Uninstalled my nividia drivers, then reinstalled a slightly earlier, more stable version (I'm using 3.14.22). You may not want to install the PhysX system drivers if you have NVIDIA. I'm not sure if they cause issues.

4) Re-installed DirectX 11

5) Re-installed DCS to a different folder than the default directory, allowing DCS to reinstall the C++ libraries.

6) Go to the install directory, go into 'bin', right click on the launcher.exe, go to compatibility and select 'Launch as administrator'.

7) That should fix it.

THEN I had issues with the textures not loading properly (see-through planes) and severe frame rate issues. This is because by default, DCS was trying to use my integrated graphics instead of my lovely GEFORCE graphics card. So I did this:

1) Opened NVIDIA Control Panel

2) Went to 3D settings

3) Went to 'manage 3D settings'

4) Selected the 'Program Settings' tab

5) Go down and find ANY application that has DCS in the title ;)

6) Choose your graphics card in the drop down menu.

That fixed everything. I can run it perfectly on max settings now.]

Once again, I know I've never posted here, but THANK YOU to all the people who took the time to write about these tech issues. All the above answers were found by reading through these forums. I almost gave up, but now I finally get to play this awesome game.
