When I use Center Trim mode, which is much better for me, sometimes controls lock and become nonresponsive resulting in a crash every time. Not sure how to replicate, but others have said it happens on center mode.

(Please note that the rudder may or may not be included in the logic described below, depending on the "Rudder included" setting and everything I write only applies to non-FFB-controllers...)

Short answer: Center your stick.

Long answer:

Both trim modes are basically the same:

They let you center your joystick but keep the position of the virtual stick.

To do so, they both ignore joystick inputs for a while.

They differ in the way they determine that while.

Non central trim mode just uses a timer (half a second or something like this). This is the time you have to center your joystick. If you fail to center the joystick in that time the actual joystick position is interpreted again, most probably resulting in a bump of the virtual flight stick.

The central trim mode ignores the joystick for an infinite amount of time and starts to interpret your input again after all axis are centered resulting in locked controls.

So, while doing basically the same you can choose versus nasty bumps and locked controls and, given the right situation, both can kill you :-)

I don't know may be Willzah is talking about a different thing.

It happens to me too. I use Center Trim Mode. It's very nice when trimming in game. But "sometimes" after trim, Hotas is not responding a long time (for example, freezing for 5~7 seconds). This duration may enough for crash to the ground.

Yes, that can happen. It does with the Black Shark too. Unless all controls affected by trim are perfectly centered at the exact same time all further inputs should be ignored.

That is why I avoid this mode and live with the bump (or no trim in the Huey).
