Hi all.

I only had the thrustmaster mfd cougars for a few weeks and tonight one of them has started to have problems with the lights flickering.

Here a video of what I mean.

I have tried different usb port, restarted the pc and changed light settings.

Not sure what else I could try?

Anyone had this problem before ?

Thanks for any advice.

Since it all of them at once it looks like a power issue. The usb cable or connector could be slightly damaged causing an intermittent connection.

Luckily if it is a bad unit TM will not ask you to send it back, instead just destroy it with photographic proof and they send a new one.

At least that is what happened when I received one with a dead LED.

It's a shame as the mfd only been used a few times and the buttons still work, but I would ask for a replacement as it's almost new.

Having to take a hammer to it would be painful though I would feel like I am burning money :(

Thanks.

I feel your pain. It was a pair of wire cutters actually. They had me cut the wire (I cut it about 4 inches from the unit) and send them a picture. I kept the thing for almost two years before I decided that I was not going to try and use it (had no use for a third).

However, if you are so inclined, there is no reason that the cable could not be fixed and an extra MFD might be handy down the road.

EDIT: The funny part of the whole thing is that I don't use the LEDs at all. I turn them off in every configuration. :)
