Unexpected Symbol Near

ok, so I can't figure out this error. I design a mission, adding little by little and at some point along the way, I start getting this error, "Unexpected Symbol Near" then it assigns a certain line. After a while, the error is followed by a second identical error but it shows a different line. Somewhere in the script I am doing something to throw an error and I can't figure it out and I can't seem to roll it back.

 

Has anybody encountered this before and how have you dealt with it?

Something is wrong with the mission script you are using. Its nearly impossible to help solve the issue without seeing the script being used. I suggest open the script up in notepad++ and select the lua syntax and see if anything is out of place.

Ok, I agree. I would post the script but I'm fairly new to DCS so I'm not exactly sure which file to post, nor how to attach/include it. I assume you mean I should unpack a copy of the .miz file and open a certain file in notepad and scan those lines for errors but I'm not sure which file the error is referring to.

You can upload the .miz file, or just PM a link to download it if you dont want to share it publicly. My best guess would be that you have a trigger using an expression condition or do script action somewhere which is causing the error.

I too, have a feeling it is trigger-related since I'm essentially using this mission as a testing ground to figure out what the ME guid doesn't explain. Let me try and upload it somewhere and post a link to it here.

Its your Russian aircraft. The "condition" box should be empty. That box is a lua condition meant for code to be in there. The number "93" isn't exactly a lua condition, thus the error. Simply remove that entry and it will work. If you wanted the aircraft to spawn with a 93% chance you need to change that box to the right that reads 100 to 93.

Ok, fixed it. I changed the values to zero, which apparently is the "line" the error reports. I had to remove it entirely to make it work and I had to just delete the units and remake them to make that happen, but you're right.
