Hello

Yesterday, when start to play some of the F-15C single player missions, I have been shot down many time by my wingmans. Again and again, everytime when I call them to "cover me". It seems to me that they cant recognize that Im friendly plane, not enemy.

Someone with the same experience?

Maybe you shot the target he was engaging and his aim-120 locked on you instead.

when you ask your wingman to "cover you", you ask him to engage the target closest to your plane.

Yes it could be the problem, today when Im back home, I will check the track in Tacview, if I was locked by the wingman's radar or AIM-120 itself. And also I will try to call this command without AIM-120 loaded under AI wings.

Maybe you should order a pince left or right before engaging, or just make sure you have some separation.

I analyzed one of accidents and noticed that at 7 minute of flight time, my wingman is keeping his nose pointing on my plane, firing AIM-120 and after that moment he is finaly directing himself to real bandits (here two Mi-24). Small change of course but still Im sure, that he launched the rocket against me, not helicopter. What a shame, that I dont have flight record to see if I have been locked by his radar or not.

So another testing will follow this evening.

I've encountered the same issue after issuing the pincer high or pincer left commands. Even if I tell the AI to attack my designated target they hit me instead.

Are you specifically telling your wingmen to turn on their radar? If you don't they seem to just launch AIM-120s visually. Beyond that I only use the cover me command when I'm in a defensive position, mostly if I've been fired on by a bandit that I haven't engage or seen on radar.

You were right, since Im calling my wingmans to turn on the radar, I didnt have any friendly fire again and on top of it, he is now helping me to find bandits.

So no bug at all. This thread can be deleted.

Thank all of you guys!

he fire a fox 3 with no lock. So the AIM120 lock his radar on your plane. Always ask to your wingman to engage when he's not behind you or when you are between him and the target.
