I'm trying to configure a joystick profile for my Thrustmaster Hotas X and it won't let me assign certain things to the joystick buttons. For example, "Weapon Fire" is grayed out, so I can't assign a joystick button to it (for the P-51D). It only lets me change the keyboard binding for it. There are also many other functions that are grayed out and not assignable to the joystick (with any plane). Anyone know how to fix this?

in your saved games folder there are all your personal config files stored...as well as the input files.

a probable fix would be to delete them all in your P51 folder, and restart the game....

before doing that though, make sure that your joystick is working properly.

oh and be aware that all your current settings will be gone if you delete those files.so you would need to start from scratch...

but maybe wait for some more responses which may suggest better solutions.

Does the Joystick has a mapping software like Target for the Warthog or Saiteks Software for the X52?

If not try this alternate solution.

It is a mapping emulator...but see by your own: http://www.electracode.com/4/joy2key/JoyToKey%20English%20Version.htm

Please let me know whether this was helpful or not, so that I could add this solution to the wiki in case others do have the same problem.

DavidRed, deleting those files fixed the problem. I'm now able to map anything I want to the joystick buttons. Thanks a ton!

MemphisBelle, I tried that mapping emulator first and it would have worked. So, yeah, if someone else has a problem like this, and it can't be fixed with DavidRed's suggestion, they could definitely get by with the JoyToKey program. It seemed to perform well in game (didn't notice any latency issues or anything). Anyways, thanks for the help.
