Jarnob Posted June 8, 2013 Posted June 8, 2013 Hi all, the answer to my question maybe alerady is on this forum but i can't seem to find it.....: I ordered an i-pac instead of a gp wiz40 since i read that both have the same functions. but now the company of the i-pac told me that the i-pac acn't be used with continuous switches; this could result in windows problems or boot problems. Now i read on another post that there should be no problems when using the gp wiz40 with continuous contacts... i am confused: if both products are exactly the same how can it be that this is different?!? what are the correct answers: do continuous switches give problems with both or not?!? hope anyone can tell me this.... kind regards, Jarno Boer
Feed Posted June 9, 2013 Posted June 9, 2013 I'm not familiar with the i-pac, but a quick look at their website makes it appear that it is a HID device, capable of emulating a keyboard and other interface devices. The GP-wiz and Bodnar boards are specifically joystick controllers, so they are most certainly not the same. Your computer won't care if it boots up with a joystick button "pressed" (which is what it will see if the "button" is actually a toggle switch making contact between two pins), but it might have a problem if it boots and thinks a keyboard key is being held down (which may be why the i-pac folks are telling you not to use that type of switch).
